The brutal murders of two women in neighboring towns in 1987 could not have been more similar... So why were police inclined to believe that they could not be connected? Was it poor evidence collection, a mistake at the time of crime scene processing, or just bad luck using 1987 technology? Jo Talley Cooper and Debra Stevens were both beautiful, vibrant women and mothers whose lives were cut far too short. Their murders would go unsolved for too long and cause their loved ones to wonder "What the hell happened?"
Join us as we walk through the details of the crime and how these cases went cold until new DNA technology helped to break the case. This is episode 1 of 2.
